We simply LOVE heading to Versailles for the day and their surprise proposal. Regardless of the season, Versailles estate is the most amazing historical site located only half an hour west of Paris. A lot of our clients decide on Versailles to propose to their girlfriend. Versailles gardens are definitely our favorite escape for a gourmet picnic and the perfect setting for a secret proposal.

Visits to the palace start at 9am while the Trianon estate opens at noon.You can purchase your tickets in advance through the official Versailles estate website. The palace as well as the Trianon estate are open every day apart from monday. The park and the gardens are open every days. There are three train stations running from Paris. Located on Boulevard de la Reine, the Queens gates give you access to the park with a car. There is a charge of €12 to access the park by car.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux après-midi préparé par Love Picnics. L’assiette était incroyable avec une telle variété de fromages, une quiche fantastique, et un cadre magnifique dans le Parc Monceau, qui était leur idée. Olivier a été un hôte formidable et lorsqu’il a commencé à pleuvoir brièvement, il a apporté des parapluies pour que nous puissions attendre que cela passe. Je referai appel à eux sans hésiter !

I highly recommend this team for making our picnic proposal absolutely perfect. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and the food selections were simply outstanding.

This company is fantastic! They set up a beautiful picnic for me and my wife in Luxembourg garden for my wife and I. Oliver was so sweet and awesome to work with. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!

The picnic experience was exceptional. Oliver made every effort to make our picnic very special. The weather was inclement and Oliver kept an eye on the hourly forecasts.
He changed the time to reflect the best weather conditions and kept us informed.
Worked out extremely well with our picnic coinciding with the hour with the best weather.
The meal was delicious the wine wonderful the experience magical.

Versailles secret proposal.

We set off to the gardens of Versailles a few days ago for the most amazing afternoon with Cody and Leah. Leah’s mum had contacted us a while back to organise a gourmet picnic for the kids alongside an engagement photo session in the park of Versailles. Cody was to propose to his girlfriend on a beautiful spring day. We had set up our picnic along the water with some red balloons so that they couldn’t miss the spot!
They arrived, settled down, cracked open a bottle of rosé wine. Olivier was positioned a little far off. He could document the proposal in a discreet manner. We had explained everything to Cody in details in the morning so that the proposal was going to be flawless. And indeed it was! Cody proposed and Leah was laughing away.

Gourmet picnic at Versailles.

We had set up our “Amelie Poulain” picnic on the grass for them. The picnic included a French baguette, a selection of cold meat, a selection of hand picked cheeses, a fresh market salad, a vegetable quiche, a couple of “éclairs au chocolat” for desert, a bottle of Rosé wine and mineral water. When they finished their lunch Olivier took them around the park for their engagement photo session.
The session lasted one hour. It gave Olivier just enough time to have a nice selection of photographs with some wonderful moments.

Day trip from Paris.

Versailles is 1/2 an hour driving from the city therefore the perfect get away for the afternoon. It is easily accessible by train as well as the RER. Leah’s mum had organised everything for them. The whole family including parents and siblings travelled together. They couldn’t resist the temptation to spy on the kids from the distance while Cody proposed. They were all there hiding behind the bushes, contemplating the proposal in action!! So funny and a total surprise to Leah …. and us actually.

Our gourmet picnic package at the gardens of Versailles

We have decided to propose an engagement packages at the garden of Versailles this year. It seems that a few of our clients had been eager to propose to their fiancee while enjoying one of our picnic at the park. It has been a real delight for us to organise our gourmet picnic coupled with a proposal photo session early spring with such amazing surroundings. We have a few special dates booked at Versailles through out the summer. We are so much looking forward to each and everyone of them.
Needless to say that we had a wonderful time with Cody, Leah and the family. Versailles is such a delight for the eyes. We love going there ourselves from time to time to chill on the grass with one of our picnic. It is such a peaceful environment away from the business of the city life!

Picnic in Paris + Romantic photo session

What’s more exciting then a romantic picnic overlooking the Eiffel tower with your lover in Paris! The days are just beautiful in Paris at the moment. The city is quite peaceful. Most Parisians are still vacationing in the south. It is certainly one of my favorite time of the year to be in Paris. What a wonderful summer we have had!

Monica had contacted us to order a surprise wicker basket gourmet picnic to celebrate her first trip in France. We set up our “Leon Picnic” & a one hour romantic photo session around the Trocadero for them as well ( They originally planned on a mini photo shoot which turned out to be too much fun and too short for their liking! ) . We actually showed some of the photos to some French friends we met up with last night. They thought the whole idea was simply brillant and decided to book “Love Picnic Paris” for an extravagant end of summer picnic at Versailles! And of course we couldn’t refuse such a fun outing. We are now considering proposing engagement & secret proposal & our gourmet picnics at the gardens of Versailles. It is very nice to get such wonderful feed back from everyone we meet. It is a wonderful feeling to create happiness in People’s life with some simple pleasure such as a Traditional wicker picnic basket delivered at the Eiffel tower.

What’s more exciting then relaxing on the grass overlooking the Eiffel tower with your loved one, enjoying a traditional French Picnic served with a nice bottle of Bordeaux then walking around with a fun & professional and creative photographer taking some romantic photographs with the Eiffel tower in the background. What a treat really, only in Paris!

A couple of important things to remember: We need you to place your picnic order a minimum of 24 hours prior to your big day. Our gourmet picnics take time to prepare & we cannot satisfy the last minute orders. We only do one picnic at Lunch time and one in the evening and dates get booked very quickly so again reserve your date in advance so that you wont be disappointed. And last, although we do offer mini photo session, our photographer Olivier suggests that you invest in one hour photo session if possible. Half hour of photography flies, it is a lot of fun to do & it is really worth the investment to stretch it to a whole hour if you can afford it of course!
