French tradition at the Eiffel tower.

The French call it : “Galette des Rois” which translates as ” French King cake”. I have to say it sounds great in French. It is a biblical tradition that celebrates the visit of the Magi to Christ. The season for this gorgeous almond cake extends to the end of the Twelve days of christmas. “King cake parties” is a real delight for kids.They are celebrated all over the country. It is the occasion for another family reunion over the festive season. Whoever gets the King cake trinket is expected to choose his king or queen and share his crown for the day.

We wanted to share one of our lovely tradition with Whitney and Shawn for their last day in Paris.

Red heart shaped balloons with your picnic.

We included a bottle of sparkling wine for Shawn to shake, pop and spray – for the photo session. It is certainly a fun way to enjoy a romantic moment with your lover and celebrate life, love, and happiness. Shawn asked for some red heart shaped balloons as well. We used those gorgeous red heart balloons quite a bit during Whitney and Shawn’s romantic photo session. They looked so perfect & fun to play with. We now propose our new balloons sets to our gourmet picnics & secret proposal packages along with a bottle of sparkling to have fun with.

Your romantic gourmet picnic for the saint Valentine’s day.

We are now taking orders for paris Valentine’s day‘s celebrations. We propose to our clients a winter style gourmet picnics at the eiffel tower with cachemire plaids and warm woolen blankets over the christmas season. Our winter picnics come with our traditional wicker baskets, cushions, candles, sparkling lights, umbrellas …. Each picnic can be customized to your liking if you have any special requests. Whitney and Shawn enjoyed a bottle of chilled champagne with warm vegetable soup, Foie gras and smoked salmon. They had roasted chicken with seasonal vegetables as a main course. For desert, they enjoyed a “galette des Rois” with fresh fruits and traditional goat cheese yogurt.

All of our gourmet picnics can be coupled with a romantic photo shoot with Olivier; our lifestyle photographer. A typical photo shoot can take any time from 1/2 an hour at the Eiffel tower to a three hours photo story across Paris. Here are a few photographs taken by our photographer just recently at the place des Vosges, in the Marais district. I love Olivier’s style of photography. His photographs are vibrant and always lively.

“Love Picnic Paris” will decorate the site with our newly designed picnic set below. This year we have added candles and lights to decorate your picnic. We ourselves love the idea of having a romantic picnic in the city regardless of the season. We call it ” our Romantic adventure ” which we have decided to share with everyone. Reach out via email to book your date. Do not hesitate to ask questions. We are here to help. Our goal is to make your unique Paris proposal a dream come true.

We would ask you to be a little flexible with time and day. We may need to move your picnic hour a little in case of rain. There is a gorgeous sheltered site which we use at the champ de mars. It is designed by Gustave Eiffel. It has public benches where we can set up your picnic in case of light rain. You would be all rapped up in our cashmere blankets. Time will stop, you will just enjoy the moment together with the woman of your life. You will propose in style, pop up the bottle of champagne and enjoy the moment.

Our photographer would be capturing your proposal from the distance.We can also include a very cheap bottle of sparkling (to shake, pop and spray – for the photo session)

Once your lunch comes to an end, Olivier will take you around the Eiffel tower site for your engagement photo session. The photo session can go from one to three hours in the streets of Paris depending on your special needs.

There are 1001 gorgeous locations where one could enjoy a French traditional gourmet picnic in Paris. We have shortlisted our top 5 ideal spots for a perfect Parisian picnic adventure. Place des Vosges, in the heart of the Marais district is one of them. You will find below a few photographs from a picnic we hosted there this past week end. The place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in the city. It was quite an exquisite place to reside in the 17th and 18th century. The area is now one of Parisian prime week-end destination where people wander around, shop and relax.

Place des Vosges was built by Henri IV in 1612. It was a leisured landmark in the city for the noble to relax until the revolution. Madame de Sévigné was born on place des Vosges while Victor Hugo lived at number 6 for 20 years.

Today the place des Vosges area is a lively part of town at a cross section to three of the most exciting Parisian districts. The neighbourhood is today home to luxury fashion brands, traditional markets and quaint typical coffee shops alike. It is a mix of the old and more modern Paris. All together, a fun and relaxing place to hang out for the afternoon both for tourists and Parisians alike. The old Jewish quarter is set to the east of the square around the rue Vieille du Temple. The trendy art galleries and musée Picasso are literally round the corner heading towards the rue de Bretagne in the high Marais.

Paris picnic ideas at the Eiffel tower.

A lot of our clients land in Paris with the intention to visit the Eiffel tower the very next morning. The Eiffel tower area is our first & most sought after destination for a romantic outdoor picnic adventure or a family get together. Depending on the weather situation, we would either suggest the Trocadero gardens or the champ de Mars area. Each location is located on opposite sides of the seine. Both sites are prime destination if you wish to admire the Eiffel tower at a close range. The Trocadero gardens offer a beautiful overall view of the Eiffel tower from across the pont d’Iéna and the river seine. It is the “PERFECT LOCATION” specially if you intend to have some photos taken afterwards. Please note that it can be a little windy at times.

Our gourmet picnics can literally be set up for you at the foot of the Eiffel tower as well. This picnic spot at the Champ de Mars is well shaded from the wind and summer afternoon light. You can enjoy a relaxing moment over lunch time, right before or after your visit to the tower. It is a couple of minutes away from the Eiffel tower main entrance. Louvre Museum romantic picnic affair.

Our third favorite picnic site in Paris is the gardens of the Louvre. It is actually our top suggestion if you are looking for a peaceful surrounding for a couple romantic outing. We have had numerous clients who chose this spot for a secret proposal and their Paris engagement photography. Again, it is a perfect way to finish a morning or afternoon visit to the Louvre museum as well. The Louvre museum is located in the first arrondissement of the city. The gardens of the Palais Royal as well as the gardens of the Tuilerie are minutes away. Parisians are so privileged to have so many amazing parks full of history to enjoy in town.

Luxembourg gardens for a gourmet picnic.

The gardens of the Luxembourg makes it for another of our preferred park to enjoy one of our Parisian gourmet picnic. The park is located on the left bank, walking distance from the seine, Saint Germain des Près and the Saint Michel area. It is round the corner from “La Sorbonne” our historical parisian university. By the way, the Luxembourg museum located on the edge of the park always host very interesting art exhibition. The café Flore is one of our favorite café to start the day with a croissant and newspapers in the 6th arrondissement of the city.

Paris has 20 arrondissements working as a snail from the city center. The arrondissement number is always marked with street names on building walls. This way, you always know what part of town you are at. From the Luxembourg gardens, It is a gorgeous walk across the neighbourhood to the “Pont des Arts” and the “Academie des Beaux Arts” on the river bank.

Versailles cultural activities and gourmet picnic delights

We started to propose picnics at the gardens of Versailles this year. Versailles gardens is our 5th location of choice for a fun picnic adventure. It is a 45mn train ride, and a walking distance from the train station. As a matter of fact, Versailles palace is gorgeous regardless of the season. We love going there ourselves to walk down the parks and take a breath of fresh air away from the city life. We would suggest a day trip to fully enjoy this French grand monument. You can begin your tour with the visit of the palace in the morning.

By lunch time, walk down past the water fountains to enjoy our gourmet picnic at the canals. The gardens of Versailles span across 800 hectares. It comprise 200,000 trees, 50 fountains and a 5.57km canal. It is one of the largest palace in the world. We are always mesmerized by the beauty of the nature and architecture walking down the park.

Once you have relaxed for an hour enjoying one of our picnic at the water’s edge, you may carry on your visit with the Trianon and the gardens of Marie Antoinette. More than just another royal French castle, Versailles has strong historical meaning in French history. It was considered a symbol of the power of the kings of France. As well as being the main residence of the royal family, Versailles was the political centre of France during Louis XIV.

Versailles is certainly a location of choice to propose to your girlfriend. It is a real delight to organize a secret proposal over a picnic in the gardens. You can then wander around the site for your engagement photography session with our photographer.

The fall Paris picnic season has arrived, with it some beautiful days ahead. The vista over the Eiffel tower is soon going to turn gold … And we simply cannot wait to enjoy those beautiful afternoon delivering our picnic baskets in the city for everyone to enjoy.

For those of you who visit our website for the first time, I have included to this post a few general guidelines about our company. It is a real delight to prepare and set up one of our Parisian gourmet picnic for couples, families and friends at one or our picnic location such as the champ de Mars or the Trocadero gardens overlooking the Eiffel tower.

Below is the map of where the picnic would normally be set up for you. It is very close to the foot of the Eiffel tower, quite peaceful and easily accessible. Please note that we also offer picnics at the Luxembourg gardens, the Louvre gardens as well as the gardens of versailles.

Family picnic affair in the city.

We cater for couples as well as larger groups looking for a unique Parisian experience. You will find four different picnic menus to choose from in our service page. Each of our gourmet picnics can be catered to your very unique requirements.

Our group picnics are served with traditional French baguette, cured meats and hand selected cheeses. The picnic comes with a vegetable quiche as well as a seasonal market salad. All of our picnics include a surprise set up with our wicker baskets, blankets, balloons. We propose a more elaborate decoration set up with cushions, candles and umbrellas for our romantic “Edith Piaf ” gourmet picnic. Regardless of the picnic you opt for, all that you have to do is enjoy your time with your family without having to worry about logistic. We will set up your picnic for you. We will be on call during the picnic hours and present to clear the picnic set up for you once you are finished. You can simply carry on with your visit or your photo session after your lunch. The picnic is usually set up for you by 13h30 but time is really flexible.

Again, our picnics are all prepared and set up by us at a chosen location prior to meeting our clients. When they arrive on site the picnic is all ready for you to enjoy.

Paris secret proposal at the Louvre

We have officially entered the fall season in Paris with a lovely secret proposal at the Louvre gardens! Ivan, our client contacted us a while back to assist him with the planning of his proposal to his long time girlfriend. We decided on the Louvre gardens to set up one of our gourmet picnic. The picnic was all ready to enjoy by 12h30. Ivan was to arrive at the location after a morning bike ride. He surprise his girlfriend with the proposal, crack the bottle of champagne open and enjoy our “Edith Piaf” picnic with his lover surrounded by French history.

Ivan especially requested for a peaceful location in the city center close to the place Vendome where the morning ride was to end. The Louvre is one of the main visited site in the city right after the eiffel tower. It attracts millions of tourist yearly. The park is located in between the museum and the tuilerie gardens. It happens to be peaceful and a perfect location for a romantic afternoon.

Lifestyle photography for your secret proposal.

We organized for our photographer to be present when our couple first arrived at the beginning of the picnic hour. Olivier discretely captured the proposal from the distance without being noticed. He carried on taking photographs while Ivan opened the bottle of champagne. He then moved forward and introduced himself so that he could take a few portraits of the two of them before they enjoyed their lunch. After lunch hour, they all walked around the Louvre museum for their engagement photo session. The photos were all retouched and sent out the very next day.

Our clients received over 100 photographs carefully edited by Olivier. You will find a few visuals from the day below. It is very difficult to decide on which photos to showcase because there are just so many gorgeous images! You will find a few photographs of the picnic set up, the actual proposal and photos taken in the afternoon over one hour.

Paris summer love

It is with great pleasure that we plan our Paris picnic parties with our traditional wicker baskets! Catering for a romantic picnic adventure at Versailles, a Paris engagement and engagement photography at the Eiffel tower, birthdays & party celebrations have been a wonderful experience. We have met lots of new friends along the way … one of the main reason why we decided to start “Love Picnic Paris”. Sharing our passion and French culture in the city that we LOVE is a lot of fun . We cannot recommend enough experiencing a Paris picnic at the Eiffel tower or the gardens of Versailles if you are planning a visit to France this summer.

We met up with Mark and Natasha at the Trocadero gardens for a special afternoon. They enjoyed our romantic “Edith Piaf” picnic overlooking the Eiffel tower. Their Eiffel picnic was all set up for them when they arrived to the park. Our photographer took them around the site once they finished their picnic for some lifestyle photography. The photo session lasted one hour. Olivier doesn’t count the time spent with his clients neither. The photo sessions often go overboard ! Neither does he counts the number of photos that he sends out to our clients. All of our Paris couple photos are retouched, sent out a few days after the shooting. You never wait for then a couple of days to receive your Paris photo story.

Olivier has worked in NYC for over 10 years as a professional photographer before he decided to settle back home. He has tons of experience making sure that his clients are having a wonderful time diring the photo session. His photos are anything apart from cliché, and convey the beauty of love, family and friendship. It is a real pleasure to spend the afternoon with him.

Our photographers style is fun and easy so it seems anyway! Years of experience and passion for his craft makes him a great professional photographer to work with. Mark was a little on the shy side while Natasha is used of having her photos taken for work. The result is stunning ! They look so happy together and certainly had a great time in the city with us.

Paris Eiffel tower Honeymoon gourmet picnic and a photo session

We would love to share a few photographs of a gourmet picnic we prepared for a lovely couple from Dubai. Happily married for a little more then a week, they first landed in Paris on their honeymoon journey through France.

They asked us to prepare our “Amelie Poulain” picnic which we set up for them in a traditional wicker basket at the gardens of the Trocadero. It was a gorgeous afternoon with a big sky over the city. The trocadero garden is located across the seine from the eiffel tower. The grounds are a little higher up from the champ de mars. It is a gorgeous open space, with big old trees along both side of the park where you can get shelter from the blasting sun if need be.

We set up our gourmet picnics at a few locations around the city. The trocadero is certainly on top of our clients list because of the amazing view of the Eiffel tower on the other side of the seine. Having a picnic at the trocadero is the perfect stop to enjoy lunch before or after your visit to the tower.

As mentioned, we can set up our picnics at other gorgeous landmarks across the city. The Luxembourg gardens, the tuilerie gardens, place des Vogues are among our favorite places to enjoy a picnic in Paris.

We LOVE our job at ” Love Paris Picnic “. We get to meet wonderful clients. It is fun and exciting to prepare our gourmet picnics in traditional wicker baskets every day. We take great pleasure to set them up at different beautiful locations in Paris and Versailles. A picnic birthday celebration is a blast specially when our client is turning one year old. We had a special request for a chocolate and vanilla strawberry cake which our bakery at Versailles prepared for us. It was all Yummy! Dad and Mum ordered salmon and chicken sandwiches that we served with a market vegetable salad along side a selection of goat cheeses.

Olivier, our creative photographer was part of the game. He produced gorgeous lifestyle family photos along the water where we had set up the picnic with cushions and umbrellas for the sun. Mum and Dad had a wonderful time as well. Those family photos are really to die for. I specially love the one where she played with our red balloons.

Our little princess has already booked us for her two year old birthday anniversary. So long till next year at Versailles gardens for another fabulous gourmet picnic birthday celebration.

Birthday picnic celebration at the eiffel tower.

Gyl contacted us a while back to help plan a family picnic in beautiful Paris for a birthday celebration and a family reunion. The whole family with a total of 24 members were to fly to Europe in the month of July. Their European journey was to end in Paris. She wanted something special and fabulous for everyone to celebrate family and love.

We set up one of our gourmet picnic at the champ de mars for them. The weather had been simply gorgeous in Paris, even too hot at times! Unfortunately, a couple of days before our picnic date, we realised that it might rain after all. The forecast was actually not the best announcing a storm in the morning and constant rain fall through out the day!!

We first decided to change the date to friday instead of saturday as originally planned. As a precaution, we had actually blocked three days for Gyl’s picnic so that we could be flexible with time and date. So we were fine, we thought at first! Only we realised the next morning that rain was now forecast for friday as well with late afternoon storm!

After consulting with our client, we finally decided to stick to our original plans. Only we were to set up the picnic on a couple of tables under one of the Gustave Eiffel beautiful shelter at the champ de mars. In case of rain, we would be safe. We had organised umbrellas with the hotel as well just in case. Nothing at this point was going to stop everyone from having FUN on a typical French afternoon picnic at the Eiffel tower. This was going to be their last day in Europe. Everyone was ready to party and face the storm if need be!

Well as it turned out, for sure the sky was rather grey, the temperature had dropped a little. Luckily we did not see a drop of rain on that day. It rained a lot overnight, neither us or Gyl slept a lot on that night!! The couple of weather forecast we had our eyes on were both completely wrong!
Thanks to the gods, everyone had a wonderful time. The food was great, we had a selection of market quiches on the tables, a selection of French cheeses, cold meats, three different market salads, melons from Cavaillon as well as refreshing watermelon and chocolate cake for desert. Not to forget Rose wine from provence, chilled bear and mineral water just in case.

A Magician for a beautiful birthday

Our friend Clement the magician joined us for part of the day. Here below we posted a few photographs taken during his magic show. Everyone; the young and not so young including us at “Love Picnic Paris” had a wonderful time with him. Our magician’s performance was a lot of fun and had us entertained. His illusions, staged and close up magic were quite comedic in nature and the audience was ecstatic. GREAT SUCCESS ….
